Writing about how games work

Long-form, original articles from the MayGame editorial team: strategy breakdowns for the genres we cover, explainers on the technology behind H5 games, and honest guidance on how to get more out of a short session.

What we publish here

This section exists because a game portal that only lists games is not much use to anyone. The articles here fall into four rough categories. Strategy pieces break down the mechanics behind a genre and explain how skilled players actually approach it. Explainers cover the technology and the practical realities — what an H5 game is, how it runs on a phone, why some genres translate to touch better than others. Recommendations group games by the situation you are actually in, rather than by genre label. And editorial notes explain how we work, including our full review methodology.

Everything here is written for this site. We do not republish press releases, we do not scrape other outlets, and we do not use generated filler to pad out a word count. If an article is not useful to you, that is a failure on our part and we would like to hear about it through the contact page.

Where to start

If you are new to browser games, begin with What Are H5 Games?. If you want to understand how we choose what to list and how the Curator Score works, read our review methodology. And if you simply want something to play in the next five minutes, the collections page is quicker than browsing.
