About MayGame

A small catalogue, reviewed by people

MayGame is a curated portal for free HTML5 browser games. We do not list everything we can find — we list the titles we have actually looked at, scored and written about, so that a recommendation here means something.

Why this site exists

Most browser-game portals are catalogues without a filter. A distributor feed pushes hundreds of titles at them, every one is published automatically, and the description next to each game is the copy the developer or the distributor supplied. Nothing is genuinely recommended, because nothing has been judged. The result is a page where a polished game sits beside a broken one with no way to tell them apart.

MayGame was built the other way round. Instead of asking "how many games can we list?", we ask "which of these is actually worth your time, and why?". Every title in our catalogue has been opened, played, scored against the same six criteria and written up in our own words. If we cannot say anything useful about a game, we do not publish it.

What we do, in plain terms

Our editorial standards

Our recommendations are not for sale. Whether a game arrives through a licensed distributor feed, a direct developer submission or our own discovery makes no difference to how it is scored — nobody can buy a higher Curator Score or a place in a collection. Advertising is kept clearly separate from editorial content, is never disguised as a game recommendation, and never intercepts your click on a game's own controls.

Every game is screened before it is scored. We refuse titles that fail to load reliably, that require a download or plugin, that infringe third-party rights, that use deceptive monetisation, that contain graphic violence or gambling mechanics, or that are silently unusable on a whole class of devices. Games that clear screening are then scored on gameplay, presentation, depth, accessibility, performance and originality, and combined into the MayGame Curator Score you see on every game page.

The full method — including the weights, the score bands and how we handle corrections and takedowns — is published in our editorial policy. We publish it so that you can hold us to it.

How to use the site

If you know what you want, the full catalogue lets you search, filter by genre and sort by our Curator Score. If you do not know what you want, the collections group games by the kind of session you actually have — a five-minute break, a race, something to think about — and the guides explain how to get more out of the games you play. Every game page carries a full assessment alongside the game itself.

Corrections and transparency

We get things wrong, and the useful question is what happens next. If a factual detail in one of our assessments is incorrect, tell us through the contact page and we will verify it and correct the page, recording the change by updating the page's modified date. When a game is materially updated, we revisit its score. If you are a rights holder and a title is listed here in error, our DMCA page explains the takedown process and we act on valid notices promptly.

We also try to be honest about the limits of what we do. We do not invent download counts, user numbers or awards to make a recommendation look more authoritative than it is, and where we offer an opinion we label it as editorial judgement rather than measured fact.
